Travis Country West Backyard Court

Project Story

Backed up to the Regents High School practice fields, this Travis Country West property was ready to trade out the old playground for something fresh — and pickleball was the clear winner.

With a house full of young athletes, the family wanted a fun activity everyone could enjoy together, plus a court that could double for basketball. We carefully tucked the court between the pool and neighboring property, cutting it into the existing landscape to maintain privacy and flow.

The court was sized intentionally to preserve as many trees as possible, giving the space natural shade and a private, tucked-away feel. The result: poolside pickleball, family fun, and a court that’s quickly become the talk of the neighborhood.

Quick Overview

Size
➡ 30’ x 56’

Colors
➡ Ice Blue (Kitchen), Light Blue, Light Green

Courts
➡ 1 Pickleball and Basketball

Design
➡ Cut excavation method used — we cut into the earth, removed material from the premises, and built a 30” x 30’ retaining wall out of concrete, tapered along the 56’ side.

Before & After

Before & After

Design & Solution

Our team implemented a cut excavation method to perfectly nest the court between the pool and neighboring property. A 30” x 30’ concrete retaining wall, tapered along the 56’ side, was built to support the layout.

The design preserved as many trees as possible, maintaining privacy, providing natural shade, and creating a tucked-away, quiet space for both pickleball and basketball play.

The result speaks for itself

Impact

The new backyard court has quickly become a family favorite and a neighborhood highlight. With plenty of shade and space, the court now hosts regular family matches and friendly neighborhood games, all without disrupting the peaceful flow of the backyard.
